Abstract

Objectives: This study, by exploring the effects of PM competency and consultant competency on consulting performance, tried to find ways of supporting development of consultant competency. Methods/Statistical Analysis: The data was collected from the survey conducted to representatives and staffers of companies which have received consulting on the coupon system. The survey was done by e-mail and 204 copies of the questionnaire were used in the analysis. Using statistical programs, the data was analyzed through descriptive analysis, factor analysis and structural analysis. Findings: Data analyses showed that while leadership of PM, passing through consultant competency, has effect on consulting performance, work competency of PM does not have such effect. Improvements/Applications: It is necessary that PM participating in consulting should develop his or her competency needed in client management by suggesting the importance of the roles of consulting participants by clearly defining them and trying to form continuous relationships with clients.

Abstract

Objectives: This study aims to analyze the differences between successful and failed businesses, find out the factors that affect the success of start-ups and requirements for stable management of a business, and use them to make policies to support small businesses. Methods: In advance, we conducted survey 500 the success and failure. And then we collected data which extracted 345 samples that had positive answers through survey, questionnaire and interview process remove the inappropriate surveys, used a total of 124 samples in the study. Findings: Successful and failed businesses have differences in educational background, type of business, motivation, existence of representative products, existence of constant suppliers, revenue management, and training of employees, and age and educational background turned out to be influential in the possibility of success. Applications: The factors deduced through this study will be used as base data in the policy-making process for the training for start-up businesses and consulting project that are provided for small business owners by Seoul City and from Seoul City Credit.

Abstract

Objectives: To explore performance influence factors in customer orientation, marketing activity, and store operation activity in small food business owners (excluding temporary food trucks and trolleys) among restaurants to seek support plans for stable business operation for small business owners. Methods/Statistical Analysis: The research subjects were business owners not received small business consulting support from the city of Seoul and data was collected through interviews during the management assessment process. Through SPSS 20.0 statistical program, frequency analysis and regression analysis was done, as well as empirical analysis for mediating effects. Findings: The study results showed that customer orientation and marketing activity had positive relations with store operation activity and store operation activity was also found to have influence on performance. It was found that store operation activity fully mediated customer orientation and marketing activity. Improvements/Applications: For positive performance in small business owners that operate restaurants, there is a viewpoint that store operation activity is very important which means that in the process of advising and consulting small business owners, there is need to suggest the importance and methods of store operation activity.
